On the morning of Sunday, June 29th, Achilles International will present the 12th annual Hope and Possibility 5 Mile Race in Central Park, New York City. Each year, Hope and Possibility brings together disabled and able-bodied athletes in a celebration of running. A Step Ahead has been participating for a number of years, sending both adult athletes and a relay team of Junior Team A Step Ahead members to the race along with a support crew of patients, friends, parents, and A Step Ahead staff members. The Juniors’ tradition of meeting up at the finish line and crossing it together is always an emotional highlight of the race. Afterwards, A Step Ahead will be hosting a picnic lunch in the park.
