A Step Ahead Prosthetics at the 2024 Paris Paralympics

This past week, A Step Ahead Prosthetics had the incredible honor of being in Paris with Ben, CPO, and Jess, Head of Marketing, to support our amazing patients competing in the 2024 Paris Paralympics. The energy in the arenas was electric, and we’re already excited about what’s to come at LA 2028!

The legendary Jessica Long continues to solidify her place in Paralympic history. In her sixth Paralympic Games, Jessica added two more gold medals to her already impressive resume, bringing her total to 31 Paralympic medals, with an astounding 18 golds!

Ali Truwit made an incredible Paralympic debut just one year after losing her leg in a shark attack. Despite being early in her recovery, she brought home two silver medals in the women’s 400-m freestyle S10 and 100-m backstroke S10, setting American records in both events. Even Tom Cruise called to wish her luck before her race—a testament to the inspiration she’s become.

The unstoppable Femita Ayanbeku made an impressive return for her third Paralympics, competing in the 100m T64 sprint finals. Six months after giving birth to her first child, Naliah, Femita set a new American record in the race.

Six-time Paralympian Patrick Anderson proudly represented Team Canada in wheelchair basketball at the Paris Games. Known as one of the greatest wheelchair basketball players of all time, Patrick’s skill, leadership, and passion for the game were on full display as he helped his team compete at the highest level. His dedication to his sport continues to inspire both his teammates and fans worldwide.

We are incredibly proud of all our athletes for their achievements at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Their determination, strength, and spirit are a constant reminder of what can be accomplished with hard work and dedication. We can’t wait to see what they achieve next at LA 2028!
