Charlie’s First Running Blade Prosthesis
Charlie, a vibrant 7 ½-year-old from our community, is already a force to be reckoned with in soccer, dance, softball, and many other sports. Despite her energy and enthusiasm, there was one thing missing from her athletic pursuits: a running blade.
Partnership with the Heather Abbott Foundation
Thanks to our partnership with the @heatherabbottfoundation, Charlie’s dream of running with a blade has become a reality. The foundation’s support made it possible for Charlie to receive her very first running blade prosthesis, opening up a world of new possibilities for her.

Charlie’s New Running Blade
With her new prosthesis, Charlie wasted no time. Within seconds of putting it on, she was sprinting through our facility, her excitement and joy were palpable. Unlike an everyday prosthesis, a running blade is designed for speed, energy return, and agility, helping amputees run with greater ease. With this new tool, Charlie will be able to push her athletic abilities even further—whether it’s on the soccer field, at dance practice, or in a future track and field race. This is just the beginning for Charlie as she now has the tools to take her athletic abilities to new heights.
At A Step Ahead Prosthetics, we are proud to be a part of Charlie’s journey and grateful for the impact of the Heather Abbott Foundation. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things Charlie will continue to accomplish with her new running blade prosthesis. We’re cheering her on every step of the way!
